Insert Laughter Here are looking for new performers

Insert Laughter Here is an improvised comedy group established in 2019. The executive team is based in Bury St Edmunds but we have performers from all over East Anglia and beyond.

We’re now looking to add to our line up and particularly seeking people who are interested in long-form improvisation, as we continue to work on developing our format: Spin-a-Play.

For some examples, you will need to be:

- ready to quickly adapt to sudden changes within a scene
- able to bring bold ideas as well as bouncing off others
- unafraid to make a fool of yourself

Improvisation experience is definitely a bonus, but not essential, we can help you get into the swing of how we work together. A theatrical background or interest would also probably be very helpful, but again, not required.

We are a welcoming and inclusive group, the only stipulation we have for applicants is a minimum age of 18.

Performers are all paid on a profit share basis per show, no financial contributions towards the group are expected but a willingness to travel would be advantageous. Our shows are often in Suffolk and Norfolk but as we look to expand we may perform further afield. We are also aiming to return to Camden Fringe more extensively in 2025.

The auditions date and location has now been confirmed - Friday 29 November, from 6pm, in Bury St Edmunds.
